RedHat Senior Director - Business Finance, North America in Raleigh, North Carolina

The Red Hat Global Sales and Services Finance team is looking for a Senior Director of Business Finance for the North America (NA) region to join us ideally in Raleigh, NC or Boston, MA. In this role, you will serve as the finance business partner to our NA Sales and Services team. You will be responsible for planning, analytics, reporting, sales incentives, business partnering, governance, and process and program management. You’ll use a combination of leadership, analytical, project management, and operational excellence skills to work with leaders across the organization and ensure that the NA Sales and Services team receives the reporting, analytics, and forecasting guidance necessary to run the business. As a Senior Director, you’ll need to be comfortable working with the highest levels of senior company leadership, guiding process improvement, developing and motivating high performers, and persuading across functions in a consultative business partnership role.

What you will do

  • Lead and develop the NA team that supports the strategic direction, investment decisions, financial reporting, and analytics needs of the NA Sales and Services teams

  • Actively participate in and shape business decisions with regional leaders, providing them with industry insight, best practices, and insights into other areas of Red Hat

  • Guide the planning and forecasting for the region and work with the senior leadership and business team members to set sales targets and budget allocation to manage and increase organizational performance for the region

  • Partner with the regional Sales team as well as the Incentives team to support quota deployment for the Sales team; your team will be responsible for the individual attainment analysis to support the target deployment

  • Provide consultation and strategic insight to the regional leadership team, using sales metrics and data across all channels and offerings with industry insight, best practices, and insights into other areas of the business; guide optimal decision making through insightful models and analytical tools and the use of extensive financial and quantitative analysis

  • Create business expansion plans and sales annual plans, partnering with Sales leaders on preparing and reviewing investment proposals, validating operating expense (OPEX) requirements, and ensuring optimal resource allocation and achievement of financial targets

  • Hire, train, and mentor new associates as needed to fulfill the mission of the team

  • Represent the Global Business Finance team as well as the broader CFO team in meetings and discussion across Red Hat teams

  • Partner effectively with Finance leads in other segments and regions and in the Operations team and other stakeholders; develop and maintain clear roles and responsibilities with other support organizations

  • Innovate and promote best practices in the fields of reporting and analytics

  • Develop comprehensive system for evaluating, measuring, and reporting on investment opportunities and returns to those investments (ROIs)

  • Focus heavily on helping to achieve strategic results while ensuring consistent delivery of tactical priorities

What you will bring

  • 15+ years of finance and business partnering experience, with 5+ years of experience serving in a director-level role, in a technology or related industry

  • Solid ability to inspire senior stakeholders

  • Bachelor's degree; master's degree or professional certification is a plus

  • Good focus on detail, accuracy, and ability to solve problems through analytical reasoning

  • Experience with business analysis and with issue tracking, problem resolution, and reporting

  • Exceptional persuasion, communication, organization, prioritization, and delegation skills
