Iron Mountain is seeking a Proposal Writer to join our Public Sector team. The Proposal Writer will have the responsibility for organizing, preparing, and writing information and data in support of Iron Mountain’s proposal responses, past performance and resume write-ups, white papers, and responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) and Market Research requests. Develops proposal concepts by studying requests for proposal (RFPs, RFIs, etc.), attending strategy meetings, and meeting with SMEs, Opportunity Owners, and Iron Mountain Executives. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role that requires an ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Opportunity Owners, Proposal Managers, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to write creative, innovative material for Iron Mountain proposals
Participate in the development and review of proposal strategies and themes
Engage with pursuit teams strategically, posing questions that draw out essential messaging
Support the creation and review of proposal outlines that will be used as a key document design and control medium
Write executive summaries and pursuit materials that articulate our strategic messaging in a compelling, persuasive manner
Write and edit proposals for continuity, logic, organization, and cohesive messaging to enhance delivery and Iron Mountain differentiators
Capture, shape, and synthesize spoken or written technical information into clear, consistent, grammatically correct content
Bring one-voice consistency to documents pieced together by multiple authors while preserving the business pursuit strategy and messaging
Coach sales teams and subject matter experts in persuasive writing and proposal best practice
Ensure that the best practices of proposal writing are followed
Prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Deliver compliant, professionally produced proposal content within defined timeframes
Maintain master proposal content library, past performance catalogue of state and local opportunities, and resume database
Manage updates to Responsive library
Key Skills, Requirements and Competencies:
5+ years of government proposal experience with at least 3 years in a Proposal/Technical Writer role.
Bachelor’s degree in related field (English, Communications) from accredited college or university or equivalent experience
APMP certification is desired
Knowledge of industry proposal best practices in government contracting
Working understanding of the government acquisition process and regulations
Strong knowledge of MS Office suite, Adobe Professional, and preferred experience with the Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
Superior organizational skills, with special attention to detail, and time management skills
Confidence in interviewing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and the ability to help transform technical details into concise, responsive and compelling proposals
Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Ability to support diverse teams and multiple proposal efforts
Strong writing skills

Reasonably expected salary range: $91,100.00 - $121,400.00
