Responsibilities

General Job Activities:

The Maintenance Parts Clerkhas the primary authority and responsibility for overseeing the management of storeroom inventories and activity. This role serves as the central point of contact for all MRO materials management.

TheMaintenance Parts Clerkmakes a direct contribution to important plant goals of increasing labor productivity, reducing maintenance costs and improving equipment reliability. This is accomplished through the following activities:

Specific Job Activities:

  • Day-to-day operations and management of all store room functions

  • Demonstratemaintenance connectproficiency in the Materials Management function

  • Drive high service level in support of planned and scheduled maintenance work

  • Review stocking levels up or down when necessary

  • Generate tactical reports (i.e., daily stock movement, due-in, past due)

  • Generate strategic reports on established metrics (i.e., monthly inventory accuracy)

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge with company purchasing procedures

  • Schedule, oversee and create cycle count documents

  • Enforce store room policies and procedures

  • Run inventory cost models to identify overstock and under-stock conditions

  • Work with maintenance personnel to determine “where used” and criticality information for maintenance and repair materials

  • Drive high service level in support of planned and scheduled maintenance work

  • Work closely with others (Warehouse, Operations, Purchasing, Engineering and Vendors) as required in planning and pre-scheduling jobs

  • Coordinate and follow-up delivery of special equipment needed from vendors

  • Provide support by contacting vendors convering cost and availability of parts

  • Manage stock levels needed to support daily manufacturing and maintenance material requirements

  • Perform cycle counts to drive inventory accuracy

  • Follow all “6s” requirements

  • Any other duties not currently identified

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Technical degree desired

  • 3+ years relevant experience desired

  • Knowledge of plant equipment and processes

  • Practical knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems
