Ford Motor Company Director of Architecture - Core Lending Platform in Raleigh, North Carolina

In this position...

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Architecture for our Core Platform, who will be responsible for the end-to-end architecture of our core lending systems. This includes managing the architecture for originations, receivables, funding, securitization, and integrations. The Director of Architecture will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping our most critical systems to ensure they are flexible, scalable, and robust, serving as the foundation of our business for years to come.

What you'll do...

  • Design and oversee the architectural framework for the core lending systems, ensuring alignment with business goals and scalability requirements.

  • Develop a deep understanding of business processes to inform architectural decisions, balancing technical innovation with practical implementation.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business experts, product teams, and engineering, to deliver integrated solutions.

  • Lead the architectural strategy for critical systems, ensuring they are robust, flexible, and capable of supporting future growth.

  • Effectively manage and guide teams of architects and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

  • Drive architectural discussions with executive leadership, presenting complex technical concepts in a clear and compelling manner.

  • Ensure the core platform adheres to best practices in security, performance, and maintainability.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to inform strategic decisions.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise-level architecture, specifically within the financial services or lending industry

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within architecture, with a focus on core systems in the financial services industry.

  • Strong understanding of architectural principles and best practices, particularly in lending and financial systems.

  • Extensive experience in the financial industry, with knowledge of its unique challenges and regulatory requirements.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading major transformation programs in complex global organizations.

  • Experience with one or more of the leading cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

  • Proven ability to effectively manage and lead teams of architects.

  • Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Executive presence and experience managing conversations at the executive level.

  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing business needs.

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 15+ years of experience in enterprise-level architecture, specifically within the financial services or lending industry
