PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
FDH is working on a large-scale project for the United States Air Force that combines expertise in non-destructive testing, data acquisition and analysis, finite element analysis, and predictive statistical modeling for existing reinforced concrete structures. The Senior PM will provide leadership to the teams with regards to reaching the goals and timelines laid out by the Statements of Work. The Senior Project Manager will work closely with the Project Manager and Team Leads to develop clear plans of action to meet these goals.
Provide technical leadership in developing a program that will meet the long-term goals of the US Air Force, concentrating on reinforced concrete and structure degradation
Review technical problem statements, perform comprehensive literature review throughout technical references, and validate applicability of different experimental and analytical methods for the desired scope of work
Assist in development of a full scope experimental/analytical program to address problem statement
Coordinate and participate in the design, build, and test of program data acquisition systems
Ensure quality and quantity of all engineering studies, reports, and drawings. Provide management with appropriate report(s) on quantity and quality
Provide leadership to teams by motivating team members to meet project goals and milestones
Work with the project leadership team to develop overall Statement of Work, project plans, and project budgets with each contract renewal
Work with Project Manager and Team Leads to develop project deliverables, including monthly progress reports and Milestone technical reports
Manage external subcontracted resources as required to meet objectives
Drive cross-functional team cooperation and support
Present exceptional client-facing skills delivered in an engaging and professional manner
Ability to multi-task, manage and engage with a wide range of clients and prospects throughout assigned range of responsibilities
Coach, mentor, and motivate project team

Additional duties as assigned by supervisor
Master’s Degree or PhD in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Engineering Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or related Scientific discipline, required
Professional Engineering (PE) licensure or Structural Engineering (SE) licensure preferred
Requires Active DOD Top Secret Clearance or ability to acquire within six months
Experience in performing scaled laboratory and full-scale field tests of concrete and steel structures (preferred)
Strong data analysis skills and ability to organize and efficiently analyze large sets of data
Ability in analyzing experimental results, understanding modes of failure, and deriving decision rules that govern outcomes
Six plus years’ experience in a project management or supervisory capacity
Working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis software ANSYS and ABAQUS is a plus
Ability to give direction and training to the staff
Ability to influence, collaborate and negotiate with a variety of client contacts and members of all FDH departments both verbally and in writing
