State of Massachusetts Motorcycle Rider Education Program (Program Coordinator II) in Quincy, Massachusetts
Position Summary The incumbent will be responsible for the operations relating to the Motorcycle Driving Schools, Motorcycle Driving Instructors, and the issuance of Motorcycle Rider Education Certificates. The Motorcycle Rider Education Program (MREP) Coordinator will be tasked with being the direct liaison between the RMV and all motorcycle training schools in the Commonwealth. The Program Coordinator will work with the Professional Driving Schools Manager to develop and implement a curriculum that is consistent and compliant with state and federal standards. You will also be expected to conduct onsite visits of all motorcycle training schools in the Commonwealth. Working closely with our compliance and audit teams, the Program Coordinator will ensure that all motorcycle training schools are complying with and adhering to the standards set forth by the state. Duties and Responsibilities * Has a full understanding of the Motorcycle Rider Education Program (MREP) and Professional Driving Instructor (PDI) statutes, regulations and policies and is able to communicate them with industry, consumers, and the general public. * Responsible for the operations relating to the Motorcycle Driving Schools and oversight over and adherence to the approved Massachusetts Rider Education Program (MREP) curriculum. * Serves as agency point-of-contact for the motorcycle industry for all matters relating to MREP training school, instructors, and certificates. * Ensures that assigned staff are cross trained in all aspects of motorcycle driving school, motorcycle instructor licensing, and education. * Investigates agency and consumer complaints regarding suspected or alleged violations of the legal requirements, prohibitions and policies enforced by the Registry of Motors Vehicles pertaining to motorcycle driving schools and instructors. * Coordinate and conduct training and industry outreach. * Works with members of the Road Test program and Contact Center regarding exam booking. * Serves as point-of-contact with MassDOT IT in maintaining the public facing web pages which list driving school locations and license status. * Oversees document management and retention for paperwork generated in accordance with agency and Secretariat policy. * Conducts at least two annual on-site field audits and compliance reviews for compliance of all legal requirements, prohibitions and policies enforced by the Registry of Motors Vehicles pertaining to professional driving schools and instructors. * Is able to read and interpret driving records in regard to eligibility for School and Instructor licensing. * Is able to read and interpret CORI reports in regard to eligibility for School and Instructor licensing and can utilize the iCORI process. * Ensures that the motorcycle driving school industry receives excellent customer service from the Registry of Motor Vehicles Division. * Demonstrates behavior appropriate for a professional office environment. * Comply with all Mass DOT/RMV standards, work-place operating policies and procedures. * Develop and implement standards to be used in program monitoring and/or evaluation with the intention of improving the overall quality of the MREP program. * Develop a thorough knowledge and use of the ATLAS system and their functions pertaining to MREP and PDS compliance process. * Confer with management staff and others in order to provide information concerning program implementation, evaluation and monitoring and to define the purpose and scope of proposed programs. * Oversee and monitor activities of the assigned unit as assigned by Manager. II. A Graduate degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience.* III.
