JOB SUMMARY
- The Vice President of the Employed Physician Group oversees the management of the employed physician network within Blessing Health System. Important objectives include ensuring high quality patient care, financial sustainability, physician engagement and alignment with the broader goals of Blessing Health System.. The VP collaborates with other executive leaders, physician service line leaders and administrative directors to drive strategic initiatives that assure excellent patient outcomes, operational efficiency and both patient- and physician satisfaction. Key responsibilities include overseeing the daily operations of the physician group, ensuring efficient workflows, resource utilization, access to care and adherence to clinical and operational standards. The VP ensures the group meets productivity targets, manages staffing and budgetary needs, and responds to changes in the healthcare and regulatory landscape. Additionally, the VP fosters a collaborative, high-performance culture throughout the employed physician group.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training/Experience:
Required:
MD or DO Degree
Medical Licensure in the State of Illinois and/or Missouri
Active Medical Staff Membership with 25-50% full time equivalent clinical work.
5 – 10 years of leadership experience in healthcare management with a focus on physician group operations
Proven ability to develop high-performing teams, manage complex initiatives and work collaboratively across a complex environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters of Business Administration, Health Administration or equivalent.
Minimum (5) five years at the executive level in health care operations within a medium to large scale health system.
Experience in medical group program administration, finance, cost/benefit comparisons, analysis of budget variances, and staffing resources.
Demonstrated advanced knowledge and experience in management principles, processes, and procedures to successfully implement institutional performance improvements. Expert in quality improvement.
Change management experience and proven ability to successfully lead during system transformation are strongly preferred. Certification in Lean and/or Six Sigma improvement methodologies.
