JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible to help patients utilize the medications effectively and assure the right patient receives the correct drug in the proper amount at the right time and all doses are appropriate to treat the patient's condition. The position fills orders for parenteral and enteral medications, monitors drug therapies and provides drug information. The staff pharmacist supervises and directs support personnel, and in the absence of the pharmacy supervisor, may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and duties of the pharmacy supervisor. This position requires providing services to one or more age populations, including neonate through geriatric, in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served. This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values while supporting the strategic plan, goals, and direction of the Performance Improvement / Patient Safety Plan at Blessing Hospital.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training/Experience:
REQUIRED:
Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a minimum of a BS Pharmacy degree
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
PREFERRED:
Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
License/Certifications/Special Requirements:
Possesses current Illinois Pharmacist License or Candidate will have 90 days to obtain Illinois Pharmacist Licensure.
