Job Description:

We’re looking for a Privacy Officer to join our Intergrated Compliance Services team at MBPS. In this role, you are expected to support the Asia Segment Compliance team in its oversight of the Privacy Risk Management Program in Asia markets such as review and monitors the privacy incidents, tracks, and consolidates responses from markets on the legislative updates and prepares the scheduled reporting to stakeholders. With minimal supervision, the incumbent exercises sound independent judgement by making decisions related to continuous privacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and launching of Annual Privacy Awareness Campaign jointly with Asia Information Risk Management (AIRM) at Regional Office (RO) and coordinate with Asia markets in distributing privacy materials

  • Participate in Information Protection Education Team (IPET) meetings and provide comments from privacy perspective on awareness materials, annual Information Protection Training, phishing simulation etc. and provide comments from Asia perspective as necessary.

  • Provide training and track attendance to Asia markets Privacy Officers/ Coordinators, Department Privacy Coordinators, Asia Legal and Compliance Program Leads and other audience as deemed necessary.

  • Oversee privacy incident response and handling of Asia markets, especially on incidents that are rated as moderate or above to ensure they are properly handled.

  • Assist markets in assessing risks, identifying gaps, providing advice and monitoring compliance on data protection and privacy for markets

  • Share of privacy updates/lesson learnt in Asia L&C SharePoint, Asia Privacy Network, and Quarterly Privacy Meetings with Asia markets Privacy Officers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably related to business management or accountancy

  • Minimum 3-5 years of related financial services, compliance or with privacy risk management experience is a plus

  • Insurance, banking, internal or external audit experience is preferred

  • Information security or compliance experience preferred

  • Amenability and readiness to work onsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situation)

  • Certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) designation or Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) is a plus.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
