GE Aerospace GEnx/GE90 Externals Fleet Support Engineering Student (intern) in Queretaro, Mexico

Job Description Summary

The Intern will work with the GEnx and GE90 Product Support Engineers (PSE) - responsible of the Externals Hardware (Configurations, Fuel, and Electrical components), providing support to the design and fleet management activities of the subject hardware (i.e. tubes, hoses, brackets, air valves, fuel pumps, etc.).

This is an opportunity for you to gain professional experience in the aerospace industry and collaborate with the PSEs to develop solutions to the problems that our customers - around the world, are exposed to maintain the reliability of their fleets.

Job Description

Essential responsibilities

  • Support, with guidance, the solution of problems of limited scope and complexity for the externals components, assemblies and/or systems, fleet management, and meet business standards and program / product requirements

  • Document technical data generated to substantiate the assigned components, assemblies and/or systems consistent with engineering policies and procedures

  • Participate in technical and program reviews

  • Provide timely communication on significant issues to key stakeholders

  • Solve problems of limited scope and complexity

  • Use Lean tools to improve assigned project

  • Support the team on the development of Lean tools

  • Work within the guidelines of applicable GE Policies and Procedures, Engineering Standards, Design Customer Operating Procedures, Specifications, Government and Commercial Standards, and special security requirements

  • Concurrently work on multiple tasks, monitoring progress and quality, and ensuring schedule requirements are met

  • Apply solid engineering skills to the solution of assigned tasks and demonstrate understanding of technical challenges in the function in question

  • Self-check of work

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Engineering student (Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or similar)

  • College graduation not sooner than August 2025

  • Effective written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish

  • English skills: must be able to maintain a simple conversation in English.

  • Presentation skills: ability to communicate with Senior Leadership.

  • Demonstrated ability in managing own projects

  • Effective problem identification and solution skills

  • Proven analytical and organizational abilities

  • Experience with visual management tools is a plus

  • In-person work is required at GEIQ offices in Queretaro, Mex.
