GENERAL DUTIES

Performs highly-skilled laboratory functions and other technical duties in support of coursework.

Reporting to the Program Director for the Theatre, the adjunct College Laboratory Technicianwould function as a short-term Technical Director for the Theatre Program. The position would be about 100 hours of work per semester, mainly around our fall and spring productions. The Adjunct College Laboratory Technician would have some carpentry skills, be able to run a lighting hang and focus, be able to set up sound equipment, and be able to help with general trouble shooting.

While not a teaching position, the Technical Director is expected to explain technical processes and mentor students to become more effective technical theater workers thereby enhancing their understanding of the theatrical process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma with a minimum of four years related experience. Additional education may be used to meet the experience requirement: an Associate degree may be substituted for two years experience, and a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for four years experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Excellent leadership and communication skills as well as mechanical ability and knowledge.

COMPENSATION

$31.22.hour
