Summary
This is an unparalleled opportunity to join our dynamic team as a Senior Manager Finance with accountability for Risk Management and Insurance. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of insurance principles and risk management strategies. This influential role will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our organization's interests, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering a culture of risk awareness throughout the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the negotiation and placement of first party insurance policies, evaluating coverage options and terms to secure optimal protection for the organization.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to conduct thorough risk assessments, assess insurable values, identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate countermeasures.
Provide expert guidance and support to business units in terms of building support systems and controls, claims management, property and crime risks
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory developments, proactively adapting risk management strategies to address evolving challenges.
Review and negotiate contractual insurance language across leases, supplier and customer agreements
Actively participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives, leveraging risk management expertise to enhance overall organizational resilience.
Critical Qualifications
University degree and minimum 4 years experience in a relevant field
Proficient understanding of insurance principles, underwriting practices, and risk management methodologies.
Demonstrated expertise in conducting risk assessments, identifying potential vulnerabilities, and developing effective mitigation strategies.
Strong knowledge of building systems, real estate, and legal frameworks pertaining to risk management and insurance.
Strong conceptual and analytical skills, great attention to detail, ability to work with large data sets and effective time management skills
Fosters teamwork by offering support and working for solutions. Ability to develop and leverage relationships with colleagues, brokers and insurers
General business acumen, negotiation and presentation skills
In the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English speaking stakeholders across Canada
