Summary About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at Pyong Taek, South Korea . Responsibilities Serve as Senior Technician and Technical Expert responsible for planning, managing and coordinating configuration management, Local Area Network projects and Wide Area Network projects in the Republic of Korea. Conduct feasibility studies preliminary to application system changes, or proposed changes in equipment to meet special requirements, by evaluating the benefits of various equipment configurations. Responsible for the on-going analysis of all data communications equipment and networking systems to ensure that maximum capability is being achieved at minimum cost. Manage and coordinate development of Local Area and Wide Area networking standards to be used at a variety of geographically dispersed locations. Provide technical expertise for network management support for Non-classified Internet Protocol Non-classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET) and classified Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET) networks. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by Provides technical expertise for network management support for Non-classified Internet Protocol Non-classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET) and classified Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET) networks; documents and coordinates network degradation and network problems with the Regional Cyber Center Korea (RCC-K) and as necessary with world wide monitoring centers.
