Red Hat Software Engineer - Plugin Developer in Pune, India

About the Job

As an Atlassian Plugin Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining custom plugins for Atlassian products, specifically in data center environments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective solutions that enhance our project management capabilities and overall productivity.

What will you do?

  • Design, develop, and maintain custom plugins for Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) in data center environments.

  • Configure and customize Jira workflows, fields, screens, and notifications to meet business needs.

  • Integrate Jira with other tools and systems using REST APIs and other integration methods.

  • Perform Jira administration tasks including user management, permission schemes, and project configurations.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide Jira solutions that improve project tracking and reporting.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve Jira-related issues and provide technical support to end-users.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Jira features, best practices, and industry trends.

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment.

  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.

  • Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

What will you bring?

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Java Developer.

  • Strong proficiency in Java SE/EE, including frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate.

  • Strong proficiency in Atlassian plugin development using Atlassian SDK and Java.

  • Experience with web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and RESTful APIs.

  • Familiarity with database technologies such as SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.

  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.

  • Experience with Jira administration, including configuring workflows, fields, screens, and permissions.

  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Groovy, JavaScript, and Python.

  • Familiarity with REST APIs and experience integrating Jira with other tools and systems.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

The following are considered a plus

  • Atlassian Certification (e.g., Jira Administrator ACP-100, Jira Project Administrator ACP-610).

  • Experience with other Atlassian products such as Confluence, Bitbucket,.

  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile development environments.
