Position Overview

Are you an experienced UX designer passionate about creating beautiful, innovative solutions for important, impactful problems? Do you want to grow your career in a global team of passionate design professionals? Autodesk is looking for a Senior Experience Designer to join our Inventor Design (XD) team to collaborate with other designers focused on transforming the product design and manufacturing industry.

In this role, you will apply and grow your experience, design and research skills as you help us craft the next generation of Design and Documentation functionality within the Autodesk Inventor. You will work closely with a team of experienced UX designers, along with stakeholders from Product Management, Software Engineering, Software Architecture, Content Development, and Quality Assurance, to create compelling design artifacts that help our customers solve their most critical "design and make" problems. You will also play an integral part in supporting the broader Fusion ecosystem, where Inventor (https://www.autodesk.com/products/inventor/overview) and Fusion (https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/overview) are the flagship products. Outcomes will be about helping us create solutions that follow a UX strategy that delights the customer. A strong candidate will relish the opportunity to jump into a highly visible work stream that drives significant impact.

You will report to the Director, User Experience. This is a hybrid position based in Pune.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design assets to support customer research and data analysis. You may be called on to participate in live customer research activities so that you begin to build your understanding of the real problems our customers face

• Help distill customer needs into a set of capabilities to benefit the customer in the most effective way

• Learn how business, marketing, design, and technical opportunities, goals, and constraints become integrated into product designs

• You will be able to conceptualize and create design artifacts from sketches, wireframes, and other UX deliverables that represent your design thinking capabilities. You and your designs must communicate that experience to our colleagues across our stakeholder groups and our customers to validate conceptual designs

• Deliver design documentation for use by a wide range of audiences including Software Development, Quality Assurance, Sales, and Marketing. Review feature implementation, test plans and documentation to ensure accuracy of results

• Participate in design review sessions with other user experience designers and receive constructive feedback that will help you develop your design abilities

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in experience design or related field

• Bachelors or equivalent work experience in UX design or related fields like architecture, industrial design, or mechanical engineering.

• Sound fundamentals in human-centered design best practices

• Experience with design and prototyping using tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, and Sketch

• Experience with Autodesk products, CAD/CAM technologies (AutoCAD, Fusion, Mastercam, SOLIDWORKS, On Shape, Blender, Creo), or designed solutions for complex, multi-faceted experiences like data visualization, 3D modeling, or simulation is a plus

• Experience in Agile methodologies and working with cross-functional teams to execute on an overall strategy

• Able to influence decision-making at all levels
