Job Description Summary
Engineering associated with the aerospace Tools & Tooling process.
Accountable for the quality of own work. Subject to direct operations supervision/prescribed work instructions/systems checking. Executes within a well-defined operation framework.
Reading and interpreting blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings.
Designing jigs & fixtures; Sheet metal, Assembly tools, Checking Gauges & fixtures, templates & Brackets Tubes
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
The Tool Designer associated with aerospace detail & Sheet metal parts, Tubes & Assembly considering inhouse/Outsource capacity & capabilities.
Design, develop tools and fixtures per end user and customer requirements.
Perform design reviews, manufacturing review and conduct prove out and validation trials.
Identify innovative solutions in Tools & Fixtures, to support running a safe and productive manufacturing activity.
Work with CFT team in proving Tool design & tool manufacturing process.
Guide operating teams effectively & address complex technical challenges, bolstering culture of problem solving.
Reading and interpreting blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings.
Aerospace tooling experience in Detail part & assembly, Sheet metal.
Detail part tool design: milling fixtures, Turning, Fabrication etc.
Sheet metal tool design: Forming, Bending, die design, Laser cutting fixtures etc.
Inspection Tools-Plain plug gauges, Flatness gauge, Perpendicular gauges, etc
Assembly Tools-Welding fixtures, Bush pressing & Assembly tools, Checking fixtures.
Knowledge of fabrication process (TIG welding)
Good knowledge about aerospace assembly process, production process, manufacturing capabilities
Good knowledge of GD& T in detail part & assembly
Knowledge of Lean methodology, 3M, Poka yoke & waste technique
Knowledge about Engineering drawing specification, interoperation
Qualifications/Requirements:
Assistant Engineer – Diploma in mechanical with Specialization in Tool design, Diploma in Tool & Die making, with 2 to 6 Years Experience
Post diploma in Tool Design (PGDTD) will be added advantage.
Experience on aerospace tool Design Assembly tools, Detail part & Sheet metal parts
Good Knowledge of Aerospace requirements, handling aerospace manufacturing Process, AS9100, quality documents, APQP requirements.
High level of drawings/schematics/standards understanding
Proficiency in, Unigraphics-Nx, Auto-Cad, Lean & MS Office
