Cummins Inc. Accounts Receivable Supervisor in Pune, India

DESCRIPTION

The Accounts Receivable Supervisor is responsible for planning, scheduling, and supervising the activities of an accounts receivable team. This role ensures timely execution of critical financial tasks, such as credit management, reconciliations, audits, and compliance, while fostering team development and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of accounts receivable clerks in accordance with established accounting policies.

  • Monitor the collection process, including negotiations with past-due accounts.

  • Prepare detailed reports on receivables, receipts, and account balances for management review.

  • Manage and coordinate internal and business accounts receivable (AR) commercial operations on a weekly and monthly basis.

  • Provide summary inputs for balance sheet reviews, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Oversee monthly CMI and quarterly I-GAAP closing activities, including provisions, reports, and dashboards, ensuring timely completion.

  • Perform yearly critical tasks such as credit limit setup and dealer reconciliation.

  • Ensure SOX and IFC controls are documented, reviewed, and adhered to by the team.

  • Provide timely support for various audits, including internal, statutory, SOX, IFC, and spot audits.

  • Recommend process changes to improve the efficiency of the accounts receivable unit.

  • Coach and mentor team members, assign work, assess performance, and provide feedback for development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Additional Knowledge/Skills:

  • Coordination and management of accounts receivable and dealer management activities.

  • Familiarity with SOX and IFC compliance requirements.

  • Experience in audit support and critical financial reviews.

  • Expertise in business partnering and driving organizational alignment through financial insights.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:

  • Education: College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Experience: Intermediate level of relevant professional experience, including some supervisory experience.
