Fiscal Analyst 3 Available Title(s): 143J-YNCSNPS - Fiscal Analyst 2, 143K-YNCSNPS - Fiscal Analyst 3 Business Title: Fiscal Analyst 3 Employee Type: Classified Time Type: Full time Position Term: 12 Month Position Details: Summary of Duties: This position provides financial accounting and analysis for the university's Housing and Dining System. The system has annual revenue of approximately $60 million and multiple operating units including 21 residence halls, 9 apartment complexes and 14 dining locations. Prepares, reconciles and analyzes general ledger entries for the university's accounting system. Extracts data from the university accounting system and imports data into QuickBooks for the monthly financial management reports. Prepares data analysis and summary reporting for management decision-making purposes. The main responsibilities include financial statement preparation, providing general ledger and reconciliation services, providing resource data for financial reports, performing financial analysis, and special projects as assigned. Performs fiscal support where independent judgment is exercised to solve problems that arise within general ledger functions and finance system development. Responsible for training, assigning, and reviewing the work for fiscal and student staff within HDFS. Required Qualifications: Fiscal Analyst 2 • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent, which must include 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and one (1) year of relevant professional experience; or equivalent education/experience Fiscal Analyst 3 • A Bachelor's degree, which includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and two (2) years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent education/experience. • Experience with a desktop accounting system such as QuickBooks. • Experience extracting data and providing analysis using tools like Excel. Preferred Qualifications for all levels: • Experience with the Workday accounting system. • Experience with People Soft Campus Solutions Student Financials (myWSU). • Demonstrated sensitivity to and experience in effectively working with diverse or multicultural populations.
