Available Title(s): 256B-YNCSNPS - Early Childhood Program Specialist 2 Business Title: Early Childhood Program Specialist 2 Employee Type: Classified Position Details: Summary of Duties: The Early Childhood Program Specialist 2 (ECPS2) assists in implementing the educational curriculum and the general operation of an infant, toddler, preschool, or school age classroom. Responsibilities include: maintaining a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate learning environment, assisting in children assessments, assisting in planning, implementing and evaluating children activities, assisting in directing student staff and volunteers, assisting with record keeping, assisting in maintaining a classroom environment that meets child care licensing and accreditation standards; assisting in evaluating student staff; modeling appropriate nurturing and communication skills with children; and participating actively and positively as a team member with all center staff members. The ECPS2 may temporarily assume leadership of the classroom in the absence of the Early Childhood Program Specialist 3. Required Qualifications: One year of experience in an early childhood program and thirty quarter credit hours in early childhood development/education/special education; OR equivalent education/experience. Associates degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Development OR Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education. Must meet the required criteria of having 12 aligned college credits in ECE Core Competencies or a CDA (Child Development Associate) within 5 years of hire.
