Available Title(s): 164-NN_FACULTY - Clinical Assistant Professor - Career Business Title: Clinical Track (Non-tenure track) Assistant Professor, College of Nursing, Vancouver Campus Employee Type: Faculty (+) (Fixed Term) Position Term: 9 Month - Summer Position Details: Clinical Track (Non tenure-track) Assistant Professor, College of Nursing, Vancouver Campus If you are a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a passion for teaching didactic and clinical courses or advising all levels of nursing students, WSU Vancouver and the College of Nursing has a Clinical Assistant Professor position opening in August 2025. Summary of Duties Washington State University Vancouver and the College of Nursing invite applications for a clinical track clinician, scholar and educator who holds current certification as Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. The candidate selected for this position will be on the faculty in the College of Nursing. Rank will be clinical assistant professor. The program at Washington State University Vancouver offers a: 1) RN to BSN completion program; 2) master of nursing (MN) program with specialization as a population health nurse with preparation as a nurse educator or nurse leader available; and 3) a DNP program with specialization as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, or Population Health Nurse. Required Qualifications 1) A Doctor of Nursing Practice or PhD by date of hire. 2) National certification as a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner and at least two years of full time clinical practice as psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner. 3) Meet eligibility requirements for RN licensure and ARNP licensure with prescriptive authority in Washington State and Oregon if not already licensed. 4) Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and the reduction of health disparities. Preferred Qualifications 1) Experience in teaching didactic and clinical courses and advising graduate and/or undergraduate nursing students. 2) Experience with technology assisted education modalities. 3) Experience working with diverse populations and/or students. 4) Demonstrated ability to utilize practice-based research studies to address salient nursing and health care issues. 5) Nursing leadership experience and engagement in professional nursing organizations 6) Interdisciplinary/interprofessional collaboration in practice and/or education. 7) Current clinical practice 8) Experience as a preceptor for PMHNP students Essential Duties: Clinical faculty will be responsible for: • Teaching undergraduate, masters and/or doctoral students. • Advising undergraduate and/or graduate students. • Serving as a clinical faculty evaluator with PMHNP students in their clinical settings. • Maintaining an ongoing program of clinical scholarship. • Disseminating scholarly findings. • Serving on graduate student committees. • Providing service to the department, College of Nursing, and university communities as well as the nursing profession. • Engaging with healthcare agencies to develop partnerships for PMHNP clinical placement opportunities.
