Ardent Mills 2nd Shift Lead Production in Pullman, Washington

Production Lead(2nd Shift) As a Production Lead, your role is to provide leadership to the operations team. This role will ensure the day to day execution of production, packaging and loading at the chickpea facilities in the Pullman, WA area.Core responsibility is ensuring direct reports are following policies and procedures related to employee safety and food/feed safety. Your responsibilities: Oversees and executes day-to-day operations for department ensuring direct reports are following policies and procedures related to employee safety and food/feed safety Partners with Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory experts to implement the most effective approach for complying with corporate safety policies and procedures Monitorsproductionoutcomes, quantity, and quality to ensure customer and food safety requirements are within specifications while providing recommendations forcontinuousimprovements Participate in improvement initiatives includingCenter lining, Preventative Maintenance, Pristine, 5S and ELEMEDS (Every Load, Every Mill, Every Day Safely) Lead and monitor risks associated with product. Ensure HACCP/FDA requirements are met in all food and feed processes. Educate/Train workforce in the food safety fundamentals and complete safety inspection and housekeeping audits. Take counts, correct discrepancies, and provide corrective actions/investigations with recommendations for improvement for review by Production Supervisor/Plant Manager/corporate QA specialists. Responsible forworkforce engagement, recognition as well asdevelopment and coachingto hourlymembers Essential Skills and Experience: High school diploma/GED equivalent with 2 years of production experience. Proven Leadership skills. Strong interpersonal skills (communication, coaching, setting expectations, providing feedback) Demonstrated problem solving skills. Demonstrated problem solving /decision making skills. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and lead others to work as a team Strong computer skills Attention to detail Good to have: Knowledgeof maintaining, operating, and troubleshootingpackaging equipmentand conveying systems Training in LEAN, Six Sigma, or other manufacturing and warehousing optimization processes Reliabilitycentered maintenance training around packaging equipment best practices Physical Requirements and Working Conditions (With or without reasonable accommodation): Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as is required by the operating areas (i.e. safety glasses, protective footwear, hearing protection and, at times, a respirator) Ability to work a rotating schedule including nights, weekends and holidays Ability to work a machine paced continuous process that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days
