Health Advocates Network Respiratory Therapist in Pueblo, Colorado

Health Advocates Network is currently seeking a Respiratory Therapist to work at a Facility in Pueblo, CO . These are registry positions with our company.

Pay Rate: $48 / hour

III. Primary Job Duties

A. Duty: :Cardiopulmonar

Brief Duty Description:

Administer modalities of Respiratory Care and EKG's, as assigned to Acute and Chronically ill patients in compliance with the Physician's prescription. Reviews pertinent lab data, assesses and records patient's therapy as to appropriatness of therapy. Available for twenty four hour response when on call and available for shift work when needed.

Exchange and relate to patients and staff appropriate information gathered from seminars, journals, internet and other resources to provide and aid in understanding the purpose of treatment and the related outcomes. Interrelate with nursing and other staff members to coordinate overall continuum of care, and increase their awareness of the purpose and importance of Respiratory Care modalities, EKG's, and Pulmonary Functions and the results of either therapy or test results.

Provide specific examples of regular, ongoing decisions made by this position related to this duty.

· Make recommendations to Department Director on current department operations related to increasing efficiency and quality of clinical care. Make therapeutic recommendations to the Physician Staff related to appropriateness of therapy and/or as patients condition changes.

· Make therapeutic recommendations to Physician and staff.

· Make recommendations to Medical Services Director regarding types of services offered and anticipated new services including vendors, equipment, product and service companies

In performing this duty, provide examples of typical problems or challenges encountered by this position, and the guidance used to resolve the problem.

· Coordinate an ever-increasing patient load by creative and effective utilization of physical therapy staff to insure continued quality of care.

· To perform treatment programs for each individual patient since CMHIP patient problems are very complex and many accepted treatment protocols need to be modified or cannot be utilized. Implement new treatment programs recommended two or more times per day.

· Meeting physician's demands and patient scheduling conflicts.

· Performing EKG's and Respiratory testing on very uncooperative patient's who are gravely ill or severely injured.

· Work with decreasing budgetary restraints while continuing to provide services at the same level or higher as customers have come to expect from this unit. Keep abreast of changing regulations for healthcare and personnel.

B. Duty: Equipment

Brief Duty Description:

· Recommend Recommend services based on Medical Staff input, needs of the customer, cost justification, and clinical knowledge of Departmental staff.

· Recommend new equipment, service providers and alternatives to Medical Staff.

· Recommend new services to Department Director

Provide specific examples of regular, ongoing decisions made by this position related to this duty.

Perform required preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment including bug not limited to Oxygen Equipment, Oxygen concentrators, Oximeters, Nebulizer Compressors, BiPAP/CPAP units, Overnight Pulse Oximetes, and Pulmonary Function Equipment and validate equipment functionality.

In performing this duty, provide examples of typical problems or challenges encountered by this position, and the guidance used to resolve the problem.

· Training spectrums of staff.

· Workload and triage.

· Continuous monitoring of equipment condition

Individuals are responsible for removing equipmint from service not meeting specific maintenance and/orcalibration requirements.

C. Emergency Response

Brief Duty Description:

Responds while on duty or on call to all cardiopulmonary arrests, and initiates and maintains ventilatory support as long as assistance is required.

Provide specific examples of regular, ongoing decisions made by this position related to this duty.

· Recommend services based on Medical Staff input, needs of the customer, cost justification, and clinical knowledge of Departmental staff.

· Make therapeutic recommendations to Physician and staff.

In performing this duty, provide examples of typical problems or challenges encountered by this position, and the guidance used to resolve the problem.

· Remaining proficient in all areas of the cardiopulmonary department while performing autonomously.

· To perform treatment programs for each individual patient since CMHIP patient problems are very complex and many accepted treatment protocols need to be modified or cannot be utilized. Implement new treatment programs recommended two or more times per day.

· Meeting physician's demands and patient scheduling conflicts.

· Performing EKG's and Respiratory testing on very uncooperative patient's who are gravely ill or severely injured.

· Work with decreasing budgetary restraints while continuing to provide services at the same level or higher as customers have come to expect from this unit. Keep abreast of changing regulations for healthcare and personnel.
