The School of Nursing facilitates the learning process of students in achieving the Doctor of Nursing Practice, the Master of Science with an emphasis in education and the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degrees. The school currently manages recruitment, admission and retention of 230 undergraduate and 90 graduate students. National Accreditation is maintained to insure delivery of quality nursing education.

Description of Job

This full-time, 12-month Administrative Professional position is responsible for coordinating with agencies, facilitating student placements, preparing for associated site visits and paper work, oversight of clinical instructors, participating in School of Nursing meetings and must be willing to share a call schedule. Additionally, this position will teach a minimum of 3 and up to 9 credits (maximum) annually.

Primary Duties

Assist the Graduate Nursing Program Director to track clinical rotations, student improvement/ success plans, clinical make-up, and day to day student clinical experiences.

Participate with graduate faculty to develop, revise, update and evaluate curriculum, outcome measurements, and clinical evaluation tools to meet national, accreditation and other program requirements. On Campus requirements include weekly to participate in SON, Graduate nursing meetings, and teaching hybrid, face-to-face, online or a combination of methods with a minimum of 3 and up to 9 credits (maximum) annually.

Collaborate with Graduate Nursing Program Director to assign, supervise and recruit adjunct faculty and preceptors to complete teaching/ learning activities and evaluation processes for lab and clinical courses. Coordinate and complete clinical site visits to evaluate, maintain and recruit new advanced nursing practice student clinical in Colorado and explore additional sites within rules and regulations. Coordinate communication between adjunct faculty and lead course/ program instructors to complete grading for clinical/ lab course evaluation measures each semester.

Available for a shared call (24/7) to respond to adjunct instructor questions by cell phone/text and assist in all student clinical issues. Ensure all compliance requirements are met as determined by each clinical agency collaborating to initiate, maintain, and communicate new clinical site affiliation and preceptor agreements. Monitor, report and communicate student program and clinical site requirements to facilitate timely and concentration-appropriate clinical learning opportunities to achieve End of Program Student Learning and Program Outcomes.

Address the training needs of adjunct faculty and new faculty. Facilitate orientation for new clinical instructors and preceptors.

Attend School of Nursing, college and university meetings and participate in assigned committees as applicable. Actively assist with requirements for the accreditation process. Participate in University and SON related student activities and student ceremonies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters of Science in Nursing or Masters of Science with Major in Nursing

  • DNP or PhD in Nursing or enrolled in a program with plan to complete doctorate degree by September, 2025

  • Unrestricted RN in Colorado or ability to obtain one

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

  • Two year’s clinical teaching experience

  • Two year’s nursing experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years administrative experience in nursing
