summary of position

The stockroom clerk is responsible for storing equipment, material and supplies and compiles stock records in stockroom by performing the following duties.

Essential functions

Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.

Examine stock to verify conformance to specifications

Store articles in bins, on floor or on shelves, according to identifying information such as style, size or type of material.

Fill orders; issue supplies from stock.

Prepare periodic, special or perpetual inventory of stock (cycle counts)

Request parts to fill incoming orders.

Compile reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, damage to stock and location change.

Mark identifying codes, figures or letters on parts.

Make adjustments or repairs to parts carried in stock.

Determine methods of storage, identification and stock location considering height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities and required space.

Move or transport materials or supplies to other departments.

Maintain inventory and other stock records.

Prepare parts for production based on pick list.

Return wrong orders, excess stock, damaged goods or overflow inventory to vendors.

Manage parts in overflow inventory.

Bill picking for FAA (government jobs)

Attend work as outlined in Employee Handbook and/or specified by your supervisor.

Complete other tasks as directed by supervisor.

Comply with government regulations, laws, company policies and company procedures.

Desired qualifications

Education & Experience: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

Skills: Ability to use Microsoft product software. Self-motivated. Effective oral and written communication skills. Multi-tasking abilities. Must have basic computer skills. Basic math skills are also required. Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch.

Interaction with others

Answers to Production Scheduling/Stockroom Manager. Must be able to accurately receive and understand instructions from supervisor to determine if further instruction is required before attempting to complete the task assigned. In constant communication with other departments (Parts, Service, Production, etc.). It is essential that the employee is able to work with all employees of the RAE team and shows a spirit of cooperation with others in the organization.

working environment

Work is performed in an industrial production area for a manufacturer of refrigeration and HVAC equipment. The employee is constantly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is high in some areas. Exposed to extreme temperatures in both winter and summer.
