A grounds maintenance worker\'s job is to keep the grounds of a property looking attractive and healthy. This can include a variety of tasks, such as: Lawn care: Mowing, edging, watering, fertilizing, and weeding lawns Planting and trimming: Planting flowers, trees, shrubs, and other plants, and trimming hedges, shrubs, and small trees Removing: Removing dead, damaged, or unwanted trees or branches Treating: Applying pesticides, herbicides, or other treatments to plants or soil Inspecting: Inspecting plant materials for insects, disease, and physical damage Repairing: Repairing and remodeling buildings, and repairing vehicles and equipment Operating: Operating a variety of hand and power tools, including mowers, trucks, edgers, trailers, and irrigation equipment Maintaining records: Completing and maintaining records and reports Grounds Maintenance Workers ensure that the grounds of houses, businesses, parks, and urban spaces are attractive, tidy, and healthy to provide a pleasant outdoor environment. Job duties also include a variety of other tasks as instructed by employees supervisor.
