The Nuclear & Precision Health Solutions division is committed to improving the lives of patients by applying more than 40 years of experience and expertise in nuclear and precision health. The business provides radiopharmaceutical development, manufacturing, preparation, market access, and business solutions across the care delivery continuum from origin to patient administration. As the only national source for both SPECT and PET radiopharmaceuticals with the largest network of 130 pharmacies and 30 cyclotron facilities, we can reach 95% of U.S. hospitals within three hours. We give customers the support they need in regulatory compliance, reimbursement, continuing education, information management and other crucial areas, so they can focus on their patients.
Position Summary:
The National Director of Foundational Sales is responsible for driving sales and services to new and existing customers while maximizing customer value and satisfaction by aligning complex product solutions and services with customer initiatives.
Due to the complexity of the sales cycle and highly regulated radiopharmaceutical industry, this role requires an enhanced approach to strategic selling, contract negotiation and people leadership. It is critical this leader provide the necessary resources to elevate the team during complex market changes, ensuring the division achieves their next level of excellence and growth. This position will lead a team of five direct reports and 35 indirect reports.
This position reports to the National Vice President of Sales; due to the travel associated with the role, this individual can reside anywhere in the United States with convenient access to a major, national airport.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and direction for multiple functional areas through Directors and Managers; previous direct sales experience in a highly regulated industry
Design, build and integrate sales strategies
Demonstrate business expertise and experience leading sales teams with a variety of service offerings
Apply business expertise to develop financial and operational objectives
Make decisions, sometimes difficult and/or unpopular, that support and drive the organization strategy; influence others to support the decisions and foster personal courage in others
Demonstrate composure during times of difficulty and stress
Role model Cardinal’s high ethical standards and code of conduct
Provide resources for developing skills/capabilities and creates unique development opportunities; serve as a resource and support for development efforts
Develop plans for managing talent inside and outside the organization and for improving leadership bench strength; drive the succession planning process
Set aggressive function or cross-functional goals that support organizational goals
Ensure plans are in place to meet/exceed goals while providing motivation and inspiration
Manage and deploy resources, leveraging knowledge of competitive advantage and profit drivers
Identify internal and external business issues that may impact organizational results
Create and set strategy based on anticipated internal and external trends; adjust quickly to changing market conditions
Leverage relationships with key internal and external customers to support business needs and challenges
Direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems
Create systems and processes that enable and require people to challenge "traditional ways" and invent/apply "new ways;" emphasize and demonstrate operational excellence and balanced risk-taking
Create relationships across the company and with external parties to reach consensus on complex strategic issues, leveraging cultural and individual differences to maximize success, champion team decisions
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
10+ years of healthcare sales within a highly regulated industry
Marketing experience desired
Understanding of lab, radiology or nuclear operations
Experience with large, complex capital and service sales cycles
Strategic, complex account management and sales
Development and execution of sales strategy and tactics
Experience leading teams is required. Experience leading other people leaders and large teams is highly preferred.
Ability to assist the team achieve their next level of excellence
Utilization of performance management tools to build and maintain a top producing sales team
Demonstrated strong analytical skills and financial acumen
Excellent planning, forecasting, negotiation, communication and presentation skills
Ability to travel up to 40% of time or as needed

Anticipated salary range: $214,400 - $309,425 (Includes targeted variable pay)
