In Data, we are responsible for delivering this data, news, and analytics through innovative technology - quickly and accurately. We optimize the value of our data by combining our domain and technical expertise to make our data fit-for-purpose, timely and accurate. We apply our problem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies and deliver a high level of customer service.

Our Team:

What’s the role?

As a Senior Data Engineer for the Entities team, you will use domain expertise to improve financial data that feeds Bloomberg products. You will also be required to identify innovative workflow efficiencies and implement technical solutions to improve our already existing systems.

You will be responsible for the integration and data management of Registry Data, specifically supporting the Private Markets Product team. This includes creating pipelines for additional sources and automating existing manual workflows. You will also work closely with the Private Markets Product team analyzing and researching new datasets for potential onboarding.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Identify and build automated solutions for the acquisition and processing of data that would otherwise require manual effort

  • Use data profiling and statistical analysis to identify trends and patterns for data duplication

  • Devise data quality strategies across various data workflows and oversee the governance

  • Design data models to build data storage solutions for our raw and enriched data and contribute to our data alignment strategy by following the FAIR data principles

  • Communicate and collaborate across team members and complementary teams including Engineering, Product, and Enterprise

  • Contribute to the creation of standard methodologies and guidelines for data management and governance

  • Use data visualization skills to report on results of ongoing operations and projects, as required

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, or a related technical degree, preferably in combination with a Finance or Business field

  • 4+ years using scripting languages (preferably Python) to query and interrogate datasets

  • Experience profiling new datasets, and implementing high volume, low-latency ETL pipelines

  • Project management skills and the ability to adapt to tasks accordingly

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

We’d love to see:

  • Advanced degree/Master’s degree in a Finance or STEM subject and/or Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) designation

  • Familiarity with use cases of sophisticated statistical methods such as Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Natural Language Processing

  • Experience working in an Agile development team
