The Role: Sr. Cloud Engineer

The Location: Princeton, NJ/NYC, NYC
The Team: This Senior Cloud Engineer will work closely with the other cloud engineers and developers in the cloud engineering team to improve Kubernetes components and applications across multiple clusters and troubleshoot issues as needed.
The Impact: The Senior Cloud Engineer will play a consultative role and collaborate with the security and development teams.
Responsibilities:
Administrate our Kubernetes clusters and their lifecycle, in order to guarantee a high degree of reliability, security, scalability, and confidence at any given time.
Provide support, improve and implement Kubernetes internal components and applications on top of multiple clusters. Troubleshoot and triage issues as they arise.
Work closely with various teams across the organization, including the security team, development team, and operations team for any AWS infrastructure requests.
Execute with minimal technical supervision, embrace reliability constraints, and be proactive in contributing improvements to the platform.
Encourage best practice policies. Adapt to various technologies and be willing to get involved with the Kubernetes and AWS community as needed.
Assist in troubleshooting network, dns and storage issues and make recommendations for cost saving options and growth.
Participate in a shared on-call rotation.
Lead and mentor junior team members.
Basic Qualifications:
5 - 7+ Years’ experience in infrastructure design/implementation that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position. (Required).
2 years administering a Kubernetes cluster in a production environment
Strong experience with identifying and remediating Kubernetes vulnerabilities.
Experience with maintenance such as Kubernetes patches and upgrades.
Experience managing multiple Kubernetes clusters in a production environment
Strong Implementation experience in AWS services (e.g. EC2, ECS, ELB, RDS, EFS, EBS, Route53, VPC, IAM, CloudFront, CloudWatch, Lambda, S3.
Hands on experience and knowledge of Kubernetes architecture and operations.
Expertise experience in container platform infrastructure in AWS (EKS, ECS, Fargate)
Clear understanding of container technologies and the tools/challenges around them.
Ability to code/script in Python/Shell/PowerShell Language.
Senior level experience managing and administering Linux/Windows based systems.
Extensive AWS Cloud Formation knowledge (YAML and/or JSON).
Systems monitoring experience (Prometheus, Grafana preferred).
Experience working with Github and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
Experience delivering projects via Agile methodologies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
AWS Certified Solution Architect - Associate
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
