Job Description:

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Essential

Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing the equipment from the Production Lines and including the Warehouse equipment, as assigned by supervisor.

Must be able to work in high ambient temperatures.

Must be capable of using man lifts.

Must be able to operate the maintenance computer system for work order generation.

Must be willing to further mechanical and electrical training by additional schooling and participation in Maintenance Technician Progression Plan.

Must be able to lift stock material up to a weight of 50 lbs and have the ability to operate the hoist for heavier items.

Must be able to physically stand, stoop, bend, twist, turn and reach overhead. Repetitive motion is often required.

Must be able to respond to equipment breakdowns and failures on the plant floor.

Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude as all candidates will be subject to skills testing.

Must complete checks of stockroom inventory for items needed on the Distribution equipment.

Must have tools and rebuild parts as required.

Maintains a clean work environment.

Notifies Maintenance, Group Leader and/or your Team Leader of any repairs or adjustments that are required.

Understands, observes, and complies with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy.

Performs all duties necessary to meet Government and Regulatory, SQF Institute, Co-Manufacturers and Company requirements/standards as prioritized by the Company.

Informs Group Leader, Maintenance Supervisor or any other Management personnel of ANY food safety or quality issues or of any processes which become noncompliant with specified requirements.

Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to food safety and the quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.

Identifies and records any problems relating to food safety and the quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.

Controls further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of food safety and quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required as Essential

Possesses a thorough understanding of all Company policies, including GMP’s and safety policies.

Effectively communicates with others.

Able to lift 50 lbs. in weight above shoulder level.

Possesses the ability to read, write, and comprehend English.

Possesses the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
