Building Maintenance Technician\ Presque Isle, ME FT/Days Temporary Opportunity\ \ Job Description:\ \ New opening for a Building Maintenance Technician to join a locally based organization. Excellent fit for anyone with experience in building maintenance, a strong understanding of safety, and the ability to work independently. Long-term temporary assignment, expected to last at least six months. Full-Time/Days; 7:00 AM 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday; \$16.50 - \$19.50/hr., depending on experience.\ \ The Building Maintenance Technician will perform a variety manual labor and repair duties, including painting, light carpentry, and minor building repairs, as well as cleaning and general maintenance. Applicants must have a valid driver\'s license, good driving record, and be knowledge on how to properly use a wide range of hand tools and maintenance equipment.\ \ Responsibilities:\
- Assist with routine, emergency, and preventative building repairs and maintenance.
- Repair drywall, paint, and perform light carpentry on the interior and exterior of buildings as assigned.
- Perform all maintenance work as specified by state and federal regulations, ensuring that structures meet building codes and general safety requirements.
- Troubleshoot maintenance problems using visual inspections and/or appropriate testing equipment.
- Follow established safety procedures and report hazards promptly.
- Maintain grounds by mowing lawns, landscaping, and snow removal.
- Carry out janitorial duties in public areas and unoccupied units.
- Assist subcontractors as needed, including but not limited to janitorial, plumbing, electrical, elevator, and controls contractors.
- Forward tenant requests and inquiries to supervisor for direction.
- Participate in unit, property, and equipment inspections.
\ Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- At least 1-2 years of professional maintenance experience.
- Working knowledge of a wide range of hand tools and equipment such as hammers, pliers, hand and power saws, cutters, plungers, etc.
- Valid drivers license and good driving record.
