Responsibilities
SAFELY works to dig, lay and backfill many different sizes and types of pipe including C-900, Schedule 40 and 80, HDPP, CMP, RCP, Ductile Iron, valve assemblies, fire hydrants, copper etc
Must have solid knowledge of installing all wet and dry utilities to include water, sewer, electrical, storm drain etc
Sets and checks grades for sewer lines down to the hundredth, manholes, pump stations etc
Assures proper moisture of backfill materials to maximize compaction
MAY operate equipment and perform trench work for installing pipe using everything from large excavators to small compaction equipment to complete the job
Qualified candidates should also be able to labor or operate other heavy equipment if there is no pipe work
Uses ladders for accessing pipe trench/able to set and work inside trench boxes
