Oversees or performs a variety of skilled-level work to build, maintain, and repair City of Prescott buildings, facilities,grounds, equipment, vehicles, and technology at Prescott Regional Airport.
Essential Duties:
- Safely oversee and implementtheroutine and emergencymaintenance of the Airportin accordance withestablishedpolicies, practices,and procedures, withminimum disruption of services.
- Performs airfield/roadwaytroubleshooting, maintenance and repair ofairfieldareas,roadwaysand parking lots(includingpavement crackrepair,sealing, and painting).
- Performs facilitiestroubleshooting, construction,maintenance,renovation, and repairsof:buildings and hangars, including structural repairs, lock changes,carpentry, concrete, masonry, andpainting; waterlines, drip irrigation, culverts,drain pipes, and hot water heaters; fences andretainingwalls;androofs.
- Performs mechanicaltroubleshooting,repairandmaintenanceof:HVAC, electrical, baggage handling systems,fire safety systems,plumbing,doors, gates, fencing,andaccess control security technology(card readers, cameras).
- Performs lighting and navigationaid troubleshooting,repairand maintenanceof:high voltageairfield electrical systemsand series circuits, andNAVAIDS, such asPrecision Approach Path Indicators (PAPI) and Runway EndIdentifierLights (REIL\'s), windsocks, etc.
- Performs grounds maintenance,including mowing, drainage maintenance and vegetation management; application of necessary pesticide or weed treatments; and operation of groundsequipmentandmaterialhauling.
- Performs vehicleInspections, diagnoses, and repairof:small engine equipment, light vehicles, and heavy equipment;maintainsequipment in good working order; and brazesand welds metals.
- Performssnow and ice removal, includingoperatingequipment and acting as snow/iceremoval team leader duringweatherevents.
- Orders and stocks parts;maintainsservice records, parts inventory, and specifications for machinery and equipment; follows OSHA and City safety standards, including the use of personal protective equipment.
- Assistsin the preparation of the annual Airport budget, long range planning, and CIP projects.
- Assistsin the development,maintenanceand implementation of plans,including:Airport Emergency Plan, Airport Security Plan, Snow Removal Plan,Storm WaterPollution Prevention Plan, Airport Certification Manual, etc.
- Ensures that staff is thoroughly trained in new or enhancedequipment operatingprocedures, andconducts employee training and certification programs for City-owned vehicles and equipment.
- Coordinates withmanagement,engineers, contractors, and users duringplanning,construction, and improvements. Reviewsprojectplans and specificationsandmonitorsthe work of contractors.
- Serves as on-call support for emergency response and irregular operationsincludinglogistical support and resources.
- Performsother duties as assigned.
