Suit-Kote Light Duty Mechanic in Preble, New York
Job Title: Light Duty Mechanic Overview: Suit-Kote Corporation, a leading Asphalt products manufacturer, road construction and maintenance and asphalt application engineering company is seeking candidates for qualified auto mechanics. Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to observe safe work practices and operating procedures at all times. Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit- Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.Responsibilities/Job Duties:•Diagnose and repair electrical systems and hydraulics on trucks and trailers•Follow paper-flow procedures, including documenting correct mileage/hours and safety procedures.•Routine maintenance such as: changing oil, checking batteries, safety inspections, brake repairs, and lubricating equipment.•Examine vehicles to determine if additional safety or repair work is needed.Required Skills/Abilities:•Willingness to obtain company provided forklift training•Reliable transportation to and from work•Strong work ethic•Minimum of 2 years experience in industry •Physical Organization and time management •Flexibility in hours - overtime and weekend hours may be necessary•Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted•Consent to a DMV license evaluation•Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety CertificatePhysical Requirements:•Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds•Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements•Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present•Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squattingOther Preferred Qualities:•Ability to read and understand SDS •Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) •High school diploma or GED - a two year technical degree is preferred•Basic math skillsSalary Range: $20.00-21.00/hourAdditional Duties:This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed.
