Pay Rate :
$100,700 - $134,300
Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.
Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s short –term incentive plan.

The Job You Will Perform:
The Prattville Mill is currently seeking a Mechanical Reliability Engineer. The Prattville Mill is a complex, fully integrated pulp and paper manufacturing facility with two machines. The mill includes multiple process lines of wood handling, pulping, power and recovery, finished products, and effluent treatment. The position works within the Maintenance group and reports to the Mill Reliability Leader.
Provide visible and active leadership in delivering excellent safety results
Conduct and understand Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) process, Basic Care, etc.
Maintain equipment reliability records and reporting/measuring processes
Manage reliability database process for the area, including tracking of entries and quality of data
Participate in the MWS process for the area, reporting progress against required deliverables
Support reliability based training activities for hourly and salaried operations and maintenance personnel
Identify and implement maintenance solutions to improve safety, reliability, and/or quality issues
Engage business unit team members and other mill leaders throughout the process to ensure department and mill objectives are addressed and to deliver world class results
Manage multiple projects at any given time
Support routine and annual outage planning and execution activities
Supervise hourly reliability technicians as needed, including PM/PdM and Lubrication technicians and trainers
Champion elements of the company’s reliability initiatives as needed
Identify and implement reliability focused cost reduction strategies that reduce the cost of ownership
Provide support for capital project development and implementation
Implement systems to improve/sustain results
Provide support for budgeting cycle targeted at delivering year over year savings
Perform the necessary field work to obtain accurate information for the design
Support 5S program for the area and drive improvement projects, audit systems, and excellent results
Fulfill weekend duty team leadership role for Maintenance or assigned Business Units.
The Skills You Will Bring:
Must have a BS in Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program.
Candidates should have 5 or more years experience in a manufacturing environment, experience in a fully integrated paper mill is preferred.
Comfort in SAP Plant Maintenance, Microsoft Office, and outage planning software
Expertise in areas such as lubrication, vibration, precision mechanical and electrical practices, rotating equipment, electrical power distribution, and electrical instrumentation and controls
Utilize the International Paper Change Process to drive change
Strong desire to work in heavy manufacturing setting.
High regard for safety in the workplace and active willingness to be a safety leader.
Comfort with all levels of employees including operators, engineers, contractors, and various levels of management.
Successful candidates must have thorough knowledge and experience utilizing Microsoft. Supervisory experience is preferred with preference given to candidates with experience managing a project/maintenance engineering team.
