We have an exciting opportunity located in Poway, CA for a mid-level Project Engineer to join the MQ-9B International Programs team to support all aspects of the program lifecycle from business pursuit, program inception, program execution, training, delivery to customer, operations, and sustainment. The position requires interface with international customer(s), foreign and domestic vendors, GA-ASI program stakeholders, and the USAF Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program office.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Formulates development and implementation of engineering solution(s) to deliver on customer requirements through design reviews, technical customer exchanges, end item configuration, and customer architecture.
Must be able to liaison with functional groups to and direct technical resources and professional staff to achieve objectives.
Serves as a key team member in proposal development and program standup.
Provides input to program team for program execution and strategy, including dependencies, development and testing, technical risks, and airworthiness.
Represents the organization as an engineering technical contact.
Plan for future applications of solutions based on IRAD activity and new developments in engineering technology.
Travel up to 25% is required to support meetings which will occur both in the US and internationally.
Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Ensures compliance, reporting, and safety standards are maintained.
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

Job Qualifications:
Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; four or more years of experience with a bachelors degree or two or more years of experience with a masters degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
Must have a complete understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory; experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts; and, expanding knowledge of principles, concepts, theory, and practices in related technical specialties.
Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems.
Must have excellent communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Able to perform complex tasks in one engineering area; and, lead a team of less experienced professional employees on semi-routine tasks.
Able to work extended hours as required. A Professional Engineering License is desirable.
Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance is required.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience with aviation production oversight, payload integration, airworthiness, and fielding.
Experience with Medium Altitude Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and operation.
Experience as trusted liaison between functional engineering, program management team, and the customer.
Ability to communicate clearly and conduct technical briefings.
Extensive knowledge in project management practices and principles.
