DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This Administrative Officer 1 position is responsible staff work performing a wide variety of administrative duties to assist in the management of the Administrative Offices of Mental Health/Developmental Services and Drug & Alcohol programs. This position is responsible for relieving a high level professional or administrative official of a variety of administrative details for funds, programs, and grants. Work involves analyzing administrative operations, policies, and procedures as well as preparing and implementing recommendations on procedural, budget, and personnel actions. This involves public contact for effective public relations, community outreach, and public service announcements in addition to duties such as scheduling, supervising various clerical activities, and summarizing information to help inform the decision-making process for high level professionals and officials. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of experience in varied office management or staff work; and a bachelor's degree; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation. A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
