Position Summary
The OTA shall be responsible for providing home based care under the direction of an occupational therapist, therapeutic interventions in a team environment consistent with the position’s qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards. Responsible for ensuring that care provided to patients is of excellent quality, meets home care rules and regulations, and follows physician’s orders.
Job Requirements :
2 Year/ Associates Degree - Graduate of AOTA
Licensed OTA in VA in good standing
OTA experience preferred
Must have a valid driver's license with and acceptable driving record
Essential Functions:
Provide age appropriate therapeutic interventions as directed by the occupational therapist.
Monitor patient response to treatment.
Document the course of patient care including progress made and continuing need for treatment.
Provide patient and family education on tasks and resources that will assist with continued functional independence.
Collaborate with the occupational therapist to develop new methods of delivering education to patients and family.
Participate in program quality management and program safety activities.
