Kuehne+Nagel Software Architect (m/f/d) in Porto, Portugal

Your Role

With a keen interest in the development field, the main objective of the Software Architect (m/f/d) will be to define/design a technical vision aligned with the strategy of Kuehne + Nagel and the other Technical Advisors. You will be responsible for the technical and functional design/analysis, ensuring the technical vision and best practices are passed to the teams. If you have extensive experience in this field and are open to a development opportunity in a global organization, we would be interested in hearing from you.

Your Responsibilities

  • Be involved throughout the entire development lifecycle, from requirements definition through realization to demo and product delivery.

  • Work closely with the business department to find the best technical and functional solution for new feature requests and improvements.

  • Contribute to the active development of the whole product team. Identify and propose changes to improve the Development Process.

  • You will develop Java- and Angular-based internal digital products within the Transport Management System (Web/Desktop), write clean code, and take responsibility for the quality and long-term maintainability of the developed software.

  • You will work on the definition, specification, and design of modular and integrated software products, and design, as well as, implement automated tests for your code.

  • You will contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes and tools.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Experience in working in small to medium software development teams in an agile environment.

  • Like the idea of being a supporter and the potential to become a mentor, having a strong passion for IT, and knowing how to find pragmatic and innovative solutions with maximum business value.

  • Have the strong will to evolve personally as well as a team in a dynamic environment and foster a no-blame culture, dare to fail, and share opinions.

  • Have an academic degree in IT / Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

  • Have strong object-oriented programming skills.

  • Have several years of expertise being successful in the field as a full stack developer using Java, Angular, SpringBoot, Rest, Hibernate, Docker (basics), OpenShift, Jenkins, Git, Oracle, ReactJS, and SQL plus experience with front-end technologies such as Angular, JavaScript.

  • Knowledge about Kafka, API Gateways, Microservice architecture, and DevOps will be a plus.

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
