Paladin Technologies Systems Infrastructure Manager in Portland, Oregon

At Paladin Technologies Inc. our technology team is dedicated to serving our enterprise clients’ building technology needs, including physical security and audio video systems.  The Manager, Systems Infrastructure will be responsible for leading and organizing the delivery and maintenance of our customers IT systems and related building technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, hire, and develop a high-performing team of systems analysts.

  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance management.

  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team culture.

  • Maximize the team’s billable time

  • Project Management:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex systems projects.

  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

  • Collaborate closely with sales engineering, operations, and other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.

  • Capacity Planning:

  • Assess the team's workload and capacity to meet current and future demands.

  • Identify and address any resource constraints or bottlenecks.

  • Implement strategies to optimize team efficiency and productivity.

  • Tool and Template Development

  • Identify and prioritize the need for new tools or templates to improve team processes and productivity.

  • Develop and implement standardized templates, guidelines, and best practices for various project phases, such as requirements gathering, system design, testing, and documentation.

  • Create and maintain a repository of reusable assets, including code snippets, configuration files, and documentation.

  • Evaluate and select appropriate tools and technologies to support the team's work, considering factors such as cost, functionality, and ease of use.

  • Provide training and support to the team on the use of new tools and templates.

  • Knowledge Management and Sharing

  • Establish and maintain a knowledge base or wiki to capture and share best practices, lessons learned, and technical documentation.

  • Encourage and facilitate knowledge sharing among team members through regular meetings, workshops, and peer reviews.

  • Promote a culture of continuous learning by providing opportunities for professional development, such as attending conferences, workshops, and training sessions.

  • Process Improvement

  • Identify and analyze opportunities for process improvement within the team's workflow.

  • Implement and monitor process changes to enhance efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.

  • Technical Expertise:

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest technology trends and best practices.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to the team.

  • Ensure that the team is equipped with the necessary tools and resources to deliver high-quality work.

  • Customer Satisfaction:

  • Prioritize customer satisfaction and exceed customer expectations.

  • Work closely with customers to understand their needs and requirements.

  • Resolve customer issues and concerns in a timely and effective manner.

  • Interdepartmental Collaboration:

  • Build strong relationships with colleagues in other departments to foster effective collaboration.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.

  • Participate in interdepartmental meetings and initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 15 years’ progressive experience in Information Technology, with proven experience in designing, deploying, and supporting complex systems

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma from a Technology Institute in computing or electronics, or equivalent experience

  • Ability to pass varying levels of security clearance

  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical data and analysis to internal and external stakeholders

  • Sound organizational skills, with the capability to handle multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced and priority-changing environment

  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment, with strong interpersonal skills

  • Willingness to mentor and build the technical abilities of the organization

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Comfortable with remote work and participating in remote teams

Experience with the following technologies is required:

  • Windows Server, Windows 10/11, and SQL Server

  • VMware, Hyper-V or other HCI/virtualization platforms

  • IP networking, SD-Wan, routers/switch configurations

  • Backup, replication and DR concepts

  • Powershell and other scripting languages

  • AWS or Azure cloud computing and network environments

  • Cybersecurity and system hardening

  • Accreditation or certification from a major network supplier such as Cisco

  • Accreditation or certification with Windows Server and SQL Server

Experience with the following technologies is an asset, but not necessary:

  • Understanding of, and experience with, Physical Security system integration, including CCTV, Access Control, Intercom, Intrusion or Audio Video management platforms

  • Devops and other advanced system delivery and support automation

Pay Rate: $105 - 140k DOE
