Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Senior IS Program Manager - Mergers & Acquisitions to one of our locations in Seattle, WA, Irvine, CA, or Portland, OR.

We are seeking a Senior IS Program Manager to manage M&A integrations. This position will be responsible for consulting, advising, and managing a number of complex projects under a single program. Manage multiple projects/programs confidently yet carefully with incomplete information; bring structure where there is ambiguity. Get to know the affiliate's business processes and ""pain points" and search for unique solutions that cause minimal transitional pain to the affiliation.

Work collaboratively with operational leadership, intake and governance teams, as well as IS groups required to integrate new acquisitions into Providence. Accountable for working with and facilitating processes to accomplish complex program objectives. Anticipate and resolve stakeholder resistance and other risks, in order to bring others along to a desired outcome. Manages change and resolves issues that span across multiple IS teams and departments by planning, organizing, directing, and supervising program activities in a cost-effective and productive manner to achieve customer satisfaction.

Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals on complex issues where analyses of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variables. Develop a trusted client partnership by surfacing unspoken concerns and seeking to understand the client's business and environment as a whole.

Primary point of contact between executive leadership and the resource managers of all IS teams. The position is responsible for engaging executive leadership and communicating the status of the program. Facilitate between executive leadership, resource managers of all IS teams, project management and consulting resources, and will be. Communicate clearly and concisely while delivering presentations and written communications to large stakeholder audiences and executive leadership teams, being able to explain the status of technical risks and issues in a business-friendly manner that helps drive alignment

Ensure projects related to the program are planned and executed in a manner that supports the Providence Mission, and supports integration and collaboration across the health system while meeting the organizational objectives. May oversee teams of up to 40-75 Caregivers.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Responsible for advising, consulting, and managing a complex program of projects designed to support Providence mergers, acquisitions, and new construction initiatives. Typical programs assigned to a Sr Program Manager will span across several of IS pillars and functional areas and will require collaboration and coordination with other programs.

  • Develop projects within a program in alignment with the organization’s strategic plans and objectives.

  • Build support to influence decisions in order to ensure work toward common objectives.

  • Proactively informs and influences others in order to maintain the balance required between business needs; project partner strategy and standards; and financial requirements and budgets.

  • Facilitate strategic planning with internal customers for deployment of information technologies and/or major services and products related to new growth and expansion efforts.

  • Manage client expectations for timelines and deliverables throughout the project/program lifecycle.

  • Develop and gain sponsor approval for project delivery dates.

  • Manage portfolio programs with increased complexity, strategic priority and/or visibility, system and/or regional priority.

  • Engage and organize the assignment of activities of multi-functional teams, as well as the project estimates, task dependencies and schedule.

  • Scope, risk and issue management, including documenting, communicating and facilitating resolutions or mitigation plans.

  • Develop, initiate and manage a communication plan, including regular program status reports.

  • Manage stakeholders and multiple project teams in the context of a single program.

  • Act as a coach and mentor to others, especially (but not limited to) other project management staff.

  • Facilitate customer needs for multiple department and their associated lines of business.

  • Develop root cause analyses and process improvement plans.

  • Maintain all program artifacts.

  • Identify, deliver and document organizational, application and human workflows that contribute to policy and procedure updates throughout each project (when applicable).

  • Prepare and deliver presentations to senior leadership, management and stakeholders.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education/experience.

  • 7 years Information Services/Information Technology and/or Healthcare Industry experience

  • 7-10 years in the project / program management field

  • 1 year relevant PPMO portfolio experience (eg. EMR, Business Applications, M&A, Infrastructure, etc.)

  • Expertise and experience with Project Management methodology based upon project management principles, including experience implementing and facilitating complex decision-making structures among multiple executive stakeholders with varied interests and priorities

  • Planning: Skilled in strategic & tactical planning and program management- with demonstrated ability to quickly understand and align with an organization, its structure, and priorities. Ability to take initiative, prioritize work, manage time and respond effectively to a rapidly changing and sometimes ambiguous environment.

  • Judgment and Problem-Solving: Demonstrated superior judgement, problem solving, and cognitive skills with the ability to understand business or clinical strategies and plans, and their relationship to organizational strategies. Ability to analyze and report on foreseeable future implications of current decisions.

  • Leadership: Advanced leadership skills, with the ability to successfully serve as a coach and mentor to others with demonstrated ability to inform and influence senior leadership, management and individuals in various parts of the organization to work toward successful outcomes. Exercising sound political and environmental judgment as appropriate to support successful project implementation with excellent skills related to group motivation, discipline, and diplomacy.

  • Communication: Superb written and oral communication that is excellent in the areas of timeliness, accuracy, professionalism (both interpersonally and technical) with demonstrated experience as a speaker in a professional presentation environment, such as conferences and association meetings.
