Description
We are offering a contract-to-hire employment opportunity for a skilled Bookkeeper in Portland, OR. In this role, you will be expected to maintain accurate financial records, perform routine bookkeeping duties, and play a crucial part in our team's financial operations.
This is a part-time opportunity (15-20 hours per MONTH) offering very flexible hours!
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with team members to keep the books up-to-date and accurate
• Be open to working additional hours as needed, with the potential for expanded responsibilities in the future
• Handle day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, ensuring financial data is current and accurate
• Process and record journal entries regularly
• Assist with month-end close procedures, ensuring all financial data is accounted for
• Perform reconciliations of accounts payable and receivable
• No payroll processing is required, but you will be expected to reconcile payroll records
• Handle bank reconciliations meticulously and promptly
• Use your skills in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and other relevant software to manage and analyze financial data
• Show commitment to our startup business environment, demonstrating adaptability and a proactive approach to your work.
Requirements • Proven experience in bookkeeping or similar role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
• Demonstrable skills in data entry
• Knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
• Experience with account reconciliation tasks
• Familiarity with payroll processes
• Ability to perform bank reconciliations
• Experience with month-end close procedures
• Understanding of general bookkeeping practices
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
