JUBITZ Hotel Laundry Attendant in PORTLAND, Oregon

The Portlander Inn is seeking a full-time Laundry Attendant! This position is responsible for washing, folding, and pressing of linens. Providing customers with quality service in a timely and friendly manner. Duties including in-house laundry, oversight of laundromat, guest laundry, ironing and customer service. Ability to operate a sewing machine and do basic mending/stitching is preferred.

Responsible for laundering customers' clothing, including but not limited to receiving, weighing, sorting, and loading into washing machines, transferring to dryers, and folding or ironing clothes as requested. Maintain cleanliness of hotel linen by washing, drying and folding guest room towels and bedding. Ensure cleanliness of guest laundry area and hotel laundry room. Handle cash from customers, make change with accuracy, balance till, and run minimal reports at breaks and end of shift.

Qualifications:

  • Three-months professional laundry experience is desired; one-year professional laundry experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Laundromat equipment and machines strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to operate cash register and count change to customers.
  • Must have outstanding customer service and communication skills, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
  • Must be 18 years or older to apply.
  • Knowledge of cleaning materials and proper handling is helpful.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or telephone. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
