Description We are in search of a Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in the healthcare industry based in Portland, Maine. This role will involve ensuring the accurate processing of medical billing within hospitals and social assistance, and ensuring the resolution of any customer inquiries. This offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Accurate processing and efficient handling of customer credit applications related to medical billing.
• Maintain detailed and accurate credit records of customers.
• Address and resolve customer inquiries related to their medical billing.
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.
• Utilize skills in billing functions and collection processes to ensure efficient operations.
• Apply knowledge of medical billing and coding to ensure accurate billing processes.
• Handle insurance claims related to medical billing.
• Ensure all processes adhere to relevant healthcare industry standards and regulations.
• Use your understanding of ICD-10 coding to improve billing efficiency.
• Ensure all work is completed on-site in Portland, Maine. Requirements • Proficient in billing functions within the healthcare industry
• Demonstrated knowledge of collection processes
• Experience in medical billing and coding
• Ability to use relevant software for medical coding
• Excellent organization and multitasking skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accuracy
• Understanding of healthcare insurance procedures and policies
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
• Familiarity with medical laws and regulations
• High degree of professionalism and ethical standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proven problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and health information systems.
