Clinical Psychology Services PLLC Clinical Psychologist / Clinical Coordinator in Portage, Michigan

Job Overview As a clinical psychologist/clinical coordinator, you will serve as the senior psychologist/clinician of a thriving testing and counseling practice. This position works closely with the executive director to learn and perform the clinical task outlined below. Ideal candidates will coordinate with the office manager to ensure the continuation of clinical services and imperative functions. This work is intended to lead the candidate to perform as the clinical supervisor for all appointments related to testing services. This includes reviewing and signing as the supervisor on all notes associated with intake appointments and testing appointments.

Responsibilities

Patient Intake & Interview

  • Conduct clinical interviews to assess patients medical and mental health history, including any biological, psychological, and social factors that contribute to their mental health.
  • Determine if the patient needs a neuropsychological or psychological assessment and if the patient is appropriate for our services.
  • Refers patients who do not require an assessment or are better suited for other services to outside resources.
  • Document all relevant information, including reported symptoms and history of mental health disorder, trauma, medical conditions, and any other information that may contribute to understanding the patient's current situation.
  • Provide an initial diagnosis based on information gathered during the clinical interview to help determine the best treatment plans for the patient.
  • Make recommendations about the patient's treatment based on assessment results.

Supervision & Psych Testing & Neuropsychological Testing

  • Determines which assessments best align with the clinical interview to provide a full spectrum assessment of the patient's diagnosis.
  • Reviews work performed by psychometrists to ensure that tests are administered to standard.
  • Responsible for grading and interpretation of all tests administered to patients.
  • Responsible for ensuring an accurate and consolidated report of all testing is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with all applicable standards

Feedback Sessions

  • Reviews clinical reports with the patient, ensuring a thorough understanding of testing, results, and how those items inform the diagnosis.
  • Explains the diagnosis in terms relatable to the patient.
  • Based on diagnosis, makes recommendations about treatment and accommodations.
  • Provides information on next steps and treatment options

Experience

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from an accredited APA institution.
  • Valid licensure to practice psychology in the State of Michigan.
  • Experience in inpatient hospital settings is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with outpatient therapy practices is essential.
  • Proficiency in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques is highly desirable.
  • Experience with psychological testing and assessment tools.
  • Experience with neuropsychological testing and assessment tools.
  • Strong DSM5-TR diagnostic skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Previous experience supervising or mentoring other professionals is advantageous.

Pay: $75,213.00 - $85,107.00 per year
