Fire & Gas Lead Technician
Under direct supervision, independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. With additional experience within one functional area, assists in the design of larger and more complex assignments which involve conventional types of plans, investigations and surveys with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering.
Job Description Lead Tech.
We are seeking a commissioning and start-up professional to join us as a Commissioning Start Up Fire and Gas Leads Techs . The KZJV Commissioning team is responsible to ensure the safe and efficient pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up and operation of the facility to achieve the plant’s production and performance objectives.
The job will be based at the Project jobsite in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana.
This position reports directly to the I&C Commissioning Supervisor.
The following is an overview of the requirements for the position:
The primary responsibility of the Fire and Gas Lead Tech will be for Pre-Commissioning and CSU activities related to all facility Fire and Gas systems in a large-scale LNG facility. This will include but not be limited to, Field Fire and Gas systems such as point gas detection, line-of-sight gas detection and Flame detection. In addition to this the responsibility would also extend to building fire detection systems that utilize multibuilding network connectivity along with addressable detector systems.
F&G Lead technicians / technicians to accomplish loop checks required to handover the various systems and sub-systems for the project to enable Substantial Completion / RFSU. This will include ensuring that Co-Console (LUCY APP) electronic recording is correctly completed and that the Clients representatives approve sign-off.
Identify required resources for testing (Labour and materials), organize test teams and establish completion priorities.
Monitor the completion of dossiers, ensuring necessary documentation is included such as ITRs, certificates, Red-Line Mark-Ups, punch status etc.
Hands on technical experience with Hazardous Area requirements (EExd, EEi, EExe) when dealing with field installed systems and a good working knowledge of NFPA-72
Assist with and participate in completion system walkdowns on site with a multi-disciplined team.
Participate in regular progress and co-ordination meetings with Client and Contractors.
Produce an action plan and follow-up for the effective sign off of field generated punch lists.
Produce daily risk assessments and permits for all site-based Pre-Commissioning and CSU activities.
Education and Experience.
Previous experience of 10+ years in the LNG or Oil and Gas industry is a requirement.
Must have recent experience of a large-Scale Fire and Gas systems and Building Fire systems.
Must have a broad knowledge of all Fire and Gas detection systems and a broad knowledge . This would include the ability to read and decipher Cause and Effect diagrams to facilitate full or partial testing of systems.
Demonstratable computer skills using MS Office. Ability to access databases, extract data and create reports.
Previous use of an electronic completion system such as CoConsole or WinPCS and advantage.
