Hyatt General Maintenance Technician III in PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad and Tobago
Description:
A GME III will be responsible primarily for repairs and maintenance in any area of the hotel. A GME III will be assigned to the Heart of House, (Plant Room, Laundry and Kitchen) and provide support when required in the Public Areas and Room Block. A GME III will also perform major repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, plumbing, laundry and any other equipment throughout the hotel. A GME III must be computer literate and possess good oral and written communication skills. A GME III is expected to keep all equipment and spaces in good repair with minimal downtime by providing day-to-day preventative maintenance and repairs. A GME III will continuously work towards and support the improvement of engineering services to guests (https://setupmyhotel.com/homepage/hotel-management-glossary/guest.html) and associates.
Duties Include:
Preventative Maintenance and repair Tasks
Inventory Maintenance - Ensure par stocking of regularly used parts and supplies.
Perform a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of HVAC, Kitchen, Laundry, Plant Room equipment and systems as well as some general maintenance and repairs including carpentry, drywall, carpet, tiles, masonry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and painting tasks;
Respond to work orders according to company policy. Keep records of work completed.
Learn all department policies and procedures.
Test, troubleshoot and perform repairs on all types of systems and equipment.
Test, troubleshoot and perform major repairs on all types of equipment.
Able to read building and equipment drawings.
Must be able to refer to equipment manuals to aid with troubleshooting and repairing of equipment.
Vested interest in continuous improvement and personal development.
Be knowledgeable about and apply safety practices continuously when performing tasks.
Complete any additional tasks and assignments as required.
Qualifications:
Diploma Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
At least three years’ experience in installing, maintaining, repairing and trouble-shooting electrical and mechanical systems such as but not limited to; air condition systems, electric power generators, automatic transfer switches, transformers, steam boilers, hot water heaters, centrifugal water pumps, control systems and building electrical systems.
Consistently practices safe work habits including but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment, lifting, reporting of unsafe situations and looking out for others.
Excellent verbal and communication skills.
Computer proficient in Word and Excel
Must be able to work on tasks with minimum to no supervision.
Onerous and committed to seeing repairs through to the end.
Must be able to perform physical activities such as lifting equipment (up to 50lbs unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, stooping, crawling or walking while carrying out job functions.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time outdoors and indoors in working conditions exposed to heights, noise, vibration, heat, water, chemicals, fumes and dust.
