Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Port Huron, Michigan
Description We are looking to hire a meticulous Senior Accountant based in PORT HURON, Michigan. This role involves handling complex financial tasks, ensuring our company's financial administration runs smoothly and is compliant with all relevant laws and regulations. The Senior Accountant will be integral to our financial reporting, consolidation, budgeting, account reconciliations, and auditing processes.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Manage account reconciliations and ledgers
• Coordinate internal and external audits, and manage tax audits and tax returns
• Implement efficient processes for financial reporting and ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of all accounting tasks
• Support the preparation of the annual budget
• Adjust spending estimates based on expenditure changes and cost projections
• Monitor effective internal controls in the financial reporting function to minimize business and financial risk
• Comply with financial standards and regulations (e.g. GAAP)
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Partner with other departments to streamline processes and maintain accurate reporting
• Utilize skills such as Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, Analyze Variance, Cost Variance, and Costing. Requirements • Proficiency in account reconciliation
• Expertise in balance sheet reconciliation
• Experience with bank reconciliations
• Strong understanding of the general ledger
• Ability to prepare and analyze journal entries
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Experience in month end close activities
• Ability to analyze and interpret variance
• Proficiency in cost variance analysis
• Experience in costing methodologies and techniques.
