SEMCO - Sr. Business Process Analyst
Position Summary
SEMCO Energy is seeking a Sr. Business Process Analyst for our Customer Accounting team! This role involves detailed technical and data analysis of key business processes, identifying best practices, and suggesting improvements. Responsibilities include defining requirements, implementing configuration or workflow changes, or scoping necessary development for IT resources. The position also involves developing recommendations to solve business operations issues and communicating with other departments as needed.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Serve as a subject matter expert on the design and functionality of key business processes, using in-depth data knowledge to recommend and validate system changes or requirements.
Map existing processes and design improved ones.
Structure large amounts of information within a process framework.
Ensure processes are configured to support ongoing customer experience improvements and evolving business needs.
Collaborate with teams from other business units and internal organizations to evaluate functionality and processes to solve business problems.
Provide business intelligence support to the CS community by creating metrics, reports, analyzing, and mining data related to customer information and billing, ensuring data integrity. Support senior management and users by developing complex analytical reports to support business metrics/measurements.
Perform Internal Audit review support for SOX.
Undertake special projects upon request.
Research processes, collect data, and analyze information.
Analyze business processes and workflows to identify improvement opportunities.
Monitor, measure, and provide feedback on process performance.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor's degree in business or a related field preferred.
5+ years of experience with relevant development technologies/tools and working knowledge of enterprise financial and billing systems required.
Experience with database/data management systems, such as SAP IS-Utilities & MV90 Application or a similar application is required.
Strong business background with an emphasis on analytical skills.
Proven ability to analyze data using data analysis tools, as well as logically analyze and solve business problems.
Ability to establish rapport and effective working relationships with business partners, all levels of management, and peers.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with diverse audiences at all organizational levels.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in using computer software and applications, including Microsoft Office Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word, to share, retrieve, research, and present business information.
Experience with database/data management systems, such as SAP IS-Utilities & MV90 Application, is required.
The estimated annual salary for this role is between $86,000 to $112,750, based on qualifications, experience, and education. SEMCO Energy is proud to also provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, savings plans, and paid time off.
