DENALI UNIVERSAL SERVICES LLC Security Officer: CPChem Headquarters Woodlands in PORT ARTHUR, Texas

The Security Officer/Guard provides protection of work sites, personnel and assets from events such as assault, theft, vandalism, harassment, and other disruptive incidents at the Chevron Phillips Chemical Port Arthur Plant. Conduct investigations, alcohol and drug screenings, and perform post duties as assigned. Performing access control is a core function of this position. Veterans and prior law enforcement officers are encouraged to apply. Schedule: 1 week on/1 week off; 12-hour shifts. Day and Night shifts.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior military, law enforcement, or security experience
  • Possess, or ability to obtain upon employment, a Level II Non-Commissioned Security Officer certification in accordance with Texas rules and regulations
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Able to proficiently speak, read, understand and write English
  • Must have a reliable personal vehicle for transportation to/from the work site each day

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Perform searches of people, vehicles, buildings, and large outdoor areas
  • Confront suspicious persons, assess intentions, and take action as appropriate
  • Perform rescue functions at accidents, emergencies and disasters
  • Extinguish fires by using a fire extinguisher and other appropriate means
  • Effectively and coherently communicate over radio channels while initiating and responding to radio communications
  • Utilize clear and appropriate communication skills when communicating with people
  • Gather information in investigations by interviewing and obtaining the statements of all participants and witnesses
  • Reduce the results of investigations into written form to clearly and accurately reflect the information obtained
  • Read, comprehend, and employ policies and procedures
  • Exercise sound judgment in determining appropriate action when there is a reasonable suspicion to detain, when probable cause exists to search, and when force may be used and to what degree
  • Comprehend, evaluate, and correctly respond to oral information received
  • Maintain composure and control of the situation
  • Safely operate a motor vehicle during both the day and night in a variety of settings and varying weather conditions
  • Conduct visual surveillance for extended periods of time
  • Observe, recall, and distinguish characteristics of persons, suspects, automobiles, location and property
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness safely
  • Willingness to perform other duties as required
  • Willingness to work at various locations as required
