UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN Technical Trades Assistant Supervisor in PORT ARANSAS, Texas
Assists with severe weather preparations and evacuation, assisting with coordination of personnel upon return to work after emergency weather, assisting with emergency power and confirmation of emergency generator testing.Assists and supervises repairs to mechanical systems including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, light electrical and carpentry throughout all MSI campuses.Responsible for providing assistance with planning, inspecting, maintenance scheduling and assigning work to shop personnel for maintenance, repair, construction, renovation, and/or operation of University facilities and equipment.Provides daily assistance of assigned personnel, including crew leaders, journeyman, and other employees assigned to various shops or sections for scheduled maintenance tasks, daily maintenance tasks and any identified maintenance issues for repair. Estimates time and materials required for jobs. Inspects and maintains shop vehicles, equipment, and tools.Responds to service calls, emergencies, participates in the On-Call program, and coordinates with shop support and immediate Supervisor to troubleshoot systems, equipment, valves, circuits, controls, panels, and relays. Performs related duties as assigned.Plans, assigns, and inspects the maintenance, repair, construction, renovation, and/or operation work. Provides timely and courteous customer service, keeps immediate supervisor up-to-date on work order status to ensure clear, concise and necessary communication channels are maintained and customer expectations are met.
